Hey marcus! I am new to dA. I used ta do a lot of costume stuff in science fiction and fantasy back in the 1970s (I'm 50) and am fascinated with the current cosplay environment, especially steampunk (I am an old fan of Jules Verne and HG Wells, the old 'wild wild west' series, Philip Jose Farmer's 'Riverworld' series etc. so it strikes a chord with me.

I very much enjoyed looking over the stuff you have made. I am a leather and metalworker and have made horse equipment for a living at times, so I know good sturdy stuff when i see it.

You have a flair for the dramatic in your clothing designs. I might commish some, tho my body type is much diff from yours. I am a barrel with legs.

Good to meet you and be sure I will holler for help as a newbie if I get too puzzled.

I live in Salem, just down the road from Portland. My daughters and I love all kinds of costume play. Melissa is 19 and Julie is 11.

Your stuff would go over big at the Faerieworlds event in Veneta in the late summer, especially the more organic botanical leafy green warrior look.

write back! I am looking for more contacts in the area, especially steampunk folks.

Kind regards

Mac McGowan aka 'JackCrocker'

Yes, thanks much ^.^ And for the :+devwatch: to (by the way, you can find how to type fancy stuff like :alien: and :meditate: if you click on the emoticons button at the bottom right of each typing window.

Yeah, Steampunk great stuff, do you know about [link] or [link] great steampunk websites. Brass Goggles has the best Steampunk Forum and I use the Clothing and Costuming link at the AetherEmporium quite a bit when looking for inspiration or great clothing...

Let me know if you're interested in anything I can offer. The as far as clothing goes, the hakama that *Lastwear sells looks quite good on a larger body, as well as a lean one like mine. I think the clothing works, because it's already baggy, instead of being a tight fit.

hah! yeah, I live in Portland... if you didn't notice already... and I've still yet to go to faerieworlds, I've been to the Oregon Country fair, but not to sell or anything...

Now, is there anything you plan on putting into your gallery?

Cheers mate,
Mark van Weerd
